Living Yoga Kansas Teacher Trainings is an affiliate teacher training center of ShambhavAnanda Yoga™ ,Rollinsville, Colorado.

About our Founder - Sri Shambhavananda

Rishi Maha Mandaleshwar Sri Shambhavananda is the founder of ShambhavAnanda Yoga. Known affectionately to his students as “Babaji,” he has devoted his life to serving those who seek inner change through the ancient disciplines of yoga. Sri Shambhavananda was born and raised on a dairy farm in the rolling hills of western Pennsylvania. From a young age he showed an inherent sense of happiness and spiritual understanding that would lead him to make a strong immediate connection with his first spiritual teacher, Swami Rudrananda, and later with Swami Muktananda. He expresses eternal gratitude to these teachers for awakening the potential of his heart.
Sri Shambhavananda is a blazing flame of inspiration and a constant source of spiritual energy for his students. He challenges the idea that spirituality is somehow removed from the world we live in, teaching that all the myriad conditions of our lives can be transformed into great joy through spiritual work. He describes ShambhavAnanda Yoga as the direct experience and insight into one’s true inner nature, available to those who are ready to surrender the distractions of the mind and open their hearts.
Sri Shambhavananda has nourished the growth of devoted students across the world for over fifty years. He has founded three thriving ashrams, published three books, and inspired the development of numerous ShambhavAnanda Yoga centers. He welcomes you to come visit the sacred spaces he has created, learn about the practices of ShambhavAnanda Yoga, and discover how to lead a life of conscious growth.

Our Story

The Heart of ShambhavAnanda Yoga Teacher Trainings™:
Hatha Yoga in the ShambhavAnanda Yoga tradition is more than physical exercises; it is part of a comprehensive system that can lead to the experience of the innate perfection within each of us.

Our Roots
At Shoshoni, we teach and practice hatha yoga as taught by our Guru, Sri Shambhavananda. Our yoga ashram is part of a 5,000-year-old spiritual tradition which uses hatha yoga as a means to prepare one’s body and mind for meditation. The word yoga comes from the Sanskrit word yuj, meaning “to yoke.” Therefore, we use yoga asana as a vehicle through which to yoke, or join, the body with the mind as a path to enlightenment.

Our Philosophy
Our approach to teaching hatha yoga includes Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and the eightfold path. These eight steps act as guidelines on how to live a meaningful and purposeful life. They serve as a prescription for moral and ethical conduct and self-discipline, direct attention toward one’s health, and help us to acknowledge the spiritual aspects of our nature.

Our Foundation
Participants in any of our Yoga Teacher Trainings are taught yoga asana and proper alignment of the body as a means to prepare oneself for seated meditation, learning to quiet the mind and regulate the breath-flow to come into harmony with the body and one’s own inner self or consciousness. “The purpose of Shambhavananda Yoga is to give you an experience of the subtle body, to connect to a deeper level of consciousness, and to function from there. Shambhavananda Yoga has to do with the unfolding of the energy centers in your subtle body. As you progress in your spiritual evolution, each situation that manifests in life can be used to increase your awareness of the Inner Self.” – Sri Shambhavananda
