Exploring the definitions of yoga beyond the physical postures.
Introduction to the basic philosophy of Shambhavananda Yoga.

Lecture & Exploration: The 8 Major Joints.
Understanding your unique skeletal structure (why poses look different on different bodies) and core activation.
2:00 PM – 3:30 PM | Asana Clinic: Standing Postures
Workshop: Breaking down the architecture of Tadasana (Mountain Pose), Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward Dog), and foundational standing poses.
Discussing the effects, benefits, and safety of these postures.
3:30 PM – 4:30 PM | "Under the Hood": Alignment & Cueing
Interactive: Why do teachers say what they say? Demystifying yoga cues so you can be your own best teacher on the mat.
4:30 PM – 5:00 PM | Closing Meditation & Q&A
A brief review of the day and a grounding meditation to transition home.
Day 2: The Subtle Body & The Nervous System
The goal of today is to look inward—exploring the spine, the nervous system, and how to take the practice off the mat.
9:00 AM – 10:30 AM | Morning Practice & Pranayama
Exploring the historical context of breathwork.
Practice: 3-Part Breath and Nadi Shodhana (Alternate Nostril Breathing).
A 60-minute dynamic flow exploring the 6 movements of the spine.
10:30 AM – 10:45 AM | Tea Break
10:45 AM – 12:00 PM | The Anatomy of the Nervous System
Lecture: How yoga actually works on the brain.
Overview of the Central & Peripheral Nervous Systems.
Introduction to the Vagus Nerve, trauma, and how breath regulates our physiology.

1:00 PM – 2:00 PM | Yoga Humanities: Ayurveda & The Sutras
Lecture: Introduction to Chapter 1 of the Yoga Sutras (the concept of surrender).
A brief introduction to Ayurveda and discovering your unique Dosha.
2:00 PM – 3:30 PM | Asana Clinic: The Spine
Workshop: Breaking down Forward Bends and Backbends.
Exploring pelvic floor activation, the Psoas muscle, and how to safely extend the spine without compression.
3:30 PM – 4:30 PM | Integration & Closing Practice
Bringing it all together: How to apply this weekend to your daily life.
A deeply restorative practice ending with a Heart Meditation to seal the weekend.
4:30 PM – 5:00 PM | Final Circle & Next Steps
Closing the container.
Handing out the Fall Level 1 Curriculum for those who feel called to continue their journey.
