Continuing Education-Meditation I (30 hours)

Illuminating the Path: Foundations in Meditation

Illuminating the Path will dramatically deepen your ability to meditate and gain the capacity to enrich the lives of others through the living practices of ShambhavAnanda Meditation. Unpack the foundational philosophy of ShambhavAnanda Meditation through skillful and engaging presentations. Study and interpret ancient texts such as the 2,000 year old Yoga Sutras and 1,000 year old Shiva Sutras, as well as ShambhavAnanda lineage Satsang texts from Sri ShambhavAnanda, Swami Muktananda and Swami Rudrananda. Students will feel empowered with chaitanya (living) practices— passed down from teacher to student over 4 generations of masters and over a century of ashram tradition. Personalized feedback from experienced teachers on all presentations and every guided meditation is provided. Training curriculum includes: what is ShambhavAnanda meditation, foundational meditation practices including breath awareness, mantra repetition and surrender, philosophy of the mind, teaching skills for beginning level meditation. Deepen your experience of meditation as practiced in ShambhavAnanda Yoga. Prerequisite: 6 months to 1 year experience of practicing ShambhavAnanda Yoga Meditation, or approval from both trainers for those choosing to audit (for students who do not wish to teach others). This course is also eligible for 30 Hours CEC's with Yoga Alliance. Illuminating the Path is also the prerequisite to Meditation II (Illuminating the Self).
